The Commercial and tourism features of Musandam

Commercially:

·  Total Population = 55000       (1993)

·  Number of Iranians who work in the commercial transportation by sea and show up almost daily = 7500 persons per month.

·  Amount of exchange of business between Musandam and U.A.E., in terms of number of products, is 9720 different products per day.

·  Amount of exchange of business between Musandam and Iran, in terms of number of products, is 8160 different products per day.

·  Number of foreigners who enter Musandam for the purpose of doing business is 3100 persons per month.

·  Number of commercial trucks that enter/exit Musandam is 280 trucks per day.

Tourism:

·  Number of GCC people who enter Musandam is 1500 persons per month.

·  Number of other tourists who enter Musandam is 950 tourists per month.

·  The length of the coastal road (Khasab -Tibat), which connects to Ras Al Khaima, is 35 kilometers.

·  A project for developing Khasab Seaport has started so that it will cope with the international Seaports standards.

·  Khasab International Airport has started with a very busy daily flights schedule.

·  A new “Tibat” check point, near Ras Al Khaima borderline, with great facilities has been officially inaugurated.

          · “Diba” and “Madha” are both directly connected with “Fujirah” of U.A.E..
